Joen Mikkel Simonsen Violine

Joen Mikkel Simonsen discovered his love for Viennese salon music after spending only a little time in Vienna. He had begun playing in many different ensmbles during his studies and thus gained valuable experience in the unique Viennese art of performing. In addition to his classical education (Bachelors, Masters, performance and pedagogy degrees), Joen Mikkel has increasingly devoted himself to salon music as a genre, and is currently an integral part of several ensembles in Vienna, in which he is also a leading figure (concertmaster and standing violinist).

He is a member of the Salonorchester Alt Wien and the Carl-Michael-Ziehrer Orchestra, and he has also participated in numerous CD recordings. Additional collaborations with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra have contributed significantly to his experience as a violinist. One quality that Joen Mikkel loves about Viennese salon music is the way it reaches the audience with particular ease and immediately inspires joy and participation.
