Tristan Feichtner

Tristan Feichtner Violoncello

Tristan Feichtner was born in 1995 in St.Johann in Tyrol and grew up in Vienna. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Robert Nagy (principal cellist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra) as well as with Stefan Kropfitsch (Jess-Trio) and graduated in 2021 with distinction. As a sought-after chamber musician he has been a guest at various chamber music festivals all over Europe. As an orchesteal musician, Tristan has substituted in the Tonkünstler Orchester Niederösterreich and at the Stadttheater Baden, amongst others. As a cellist and member of such ensembles as the Strausskapelle and the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra, which specialise in the music of the Strauss dynasty, Tristan experiences the same inpiration and fascination that had already gripped him as a child.

As a result of his busy concert schedule, he has already been able to introduce music of the Strauss family to listeners in countries where classical music is not necessarily the norm, most notably through a recent tour in Africa. Tristan is convinced that Viennese salon music still plays an important role in today's world, and that it is a timeless heritage that will inspire many generations to come. Through his interpretations he would like to bring this wonderful music even closer to Vienna's audiences.
